Dr Hubertus von Grünberg founded the avateramedical group in 2011 together with a leading German urologist in the field of robotic-assisted, minimally invasive surgery, Prof. Dr. Jens-Uwe Stolzenburg from Leipzig.
As one of the top managers in the German economy, Dr von Grünberg has extensive experience in industry and manufacturing. Before joining avatera, he was appointed chairman of the executive board of Continental AG, Hanover, a global automotive supplier. He also served as group board member for the passenger car tyres division until he was appointed chairman of the supervisory board in 1999.
He also served as chairman of the board of ABB Group (Asea Brown Boveri) until 2015.
In addition, he has held a number of supervisory board positions for major European companies, including Deutsche Telekom AG and ABB.
Hubertus von Grünberg studied physics at the University of Cologne and received his doctorate in 1970 with a dissertation on a theory of relativity.
